How Things Work — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
How Things Work is a 3D and augmented reality app for iPhone, published by SWEET ESCAPE LABS INC. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
The short version: the app collects no data about you. It works entirely offline and nothing ever leaves your device.
Camera
The app uses your device camera to display 3D content overlaid on your environment using ARKit. The camera feed is processed in real time on your device only — it is never recorded, stored, transmitted, or shared with anyone. Denying camera permission means AR placement won't work, but you can still explore models in standard 3D view.
Data we collect
None. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, usage data, analytics, or crash reports. It makes no network requests of any kind.
Third-party services
None. All 3D models and content are bundled inside the app. The app has no connection to any external service, analytics platform, or advertising network.
Device storage
The app stores a small local cache of converted 3D model files on your device to speed up load times. This cache contains only app content — no personal data — and is stored in the app's private cache directory. It is removed when you delete the app.
Children's privacy
The app is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
As the app gains new features (such as on-demand content loading or optional analytics), this policy will be updated to reflect those changes before the relevant version ships. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
